HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY!

Sometimes, a photo says it all.

Yesterday, my youngest daughter and I took the pooches on a hike in West Bragg Creek in Kananaskis Country.

The park is off leash – which is amazing.

Many of the trails, while shared with mountain bikers, are also shared with horses and cattle. Not quite so amazing when it comes to a certain pooch who shall remain unnamed due to privacy concerns and their sensitive nature (emotional not physical obviously.) 🙂 They think it’s a good idea to lick up any water they can find! Did you know dried up cattle plops form bowls for rainwater to sit in?

I know. Gross.

A certain pooch was impervious to the grossness and needed to be constantly reminded to keep their snout out of cow puddles. Fortunately (though deserately needed and it would be wonderful if it did fall), rain has not been generously falling so the aforementioned cow puddles were rare sightings.

The squirells however, they were numerous.

I’m always curious why a dawg thinks it’s a good idea to bounce around at the bottom of a tree like a cat on a hot tin roof. Do they think their interpretive dance will entice the critter to come down and play?

I’m waiting for the day the squirrel sits on a branch and starts lodging stones at the offending interloper.

Until then, it was a great hike with my daughter and our canine companions.

As you can tell by their faces, Beau’s at least, happiness was big on the agenda.
