Beaumont: So. Can I just say something?
Me: Is it nice?
Beau: Ha! Like I’m never not nice. Though I would suggest it’s not nice of you to even ask the question.
Me: Fine. I apologize. What did you want to say?
Beau: So I understand you’re off to see “The Littles” this week.
Me: Yup! I’m so excited.
Beau: What about me?
Me: Are you excited too?
Beau: Don’t be obtuse.
Me: Sorry. Must be visiting my grandchildren mind. Ok. I bite. What about you?
Beau: I don’t see you packing a suitcase for me.
Me Um… Well, you don’t have any change of clothes. Remember?
Beau: So I am coming with you?
Me: Well… No. You’re not.
Beau: Then I repeat. What about me?
Me: You’re going to be here at home with your dad. You’ll have him all to yourself.
Beau: And…
Me: I’ll miss you?
Beau: I won’t miss you.
Me: Beau…. Be nice.
Beau: I’m just being honest. Five days alone with my dad and I get to sleep on your side of the bed? All night long! Why would I miss you?
Me: Ummm…. says who you get to sleep on the bed?
Beau: Says the one you’re leaving behind who’ll be sleeping on your side of the bed. All night long! Umm…. by the way… Does that mean you won’t be posting my blog next Sunday.
Me: I’m leaving my laptop at home. You’re welcome to use it.
Beau: Remember… my paws don’t fit on the keys.
Me: I’m sure you’ll work something out.
Beau: You know you can be oh so cruel sometimes. Right?
Me: Cruel. Nah! I just want to give you the chance to take ownership of your own blog.
Beau: It’s okay Louise. I’ll have ownership of your side of the bed. That works perfect for me.
Sigh. And it’s true. I know C.C. will let him sleep on the bed and probably share toast and crackers and have a real find ‘boy time’ while I’m gone.
And yes. Beau is right. No blog next Sunday. See y’all in a couple of weeks!
Beau: By the way. You might be sleeping in the guest room when you get back. Who knows if I’ll give up “MY” side of the bed. Y’a know… ownership being 9/10ths of the law and all that. 🙂
Sundays with Beaumont 
Go for it! Your own side of a real bed. Don’t rock the proverbial boat or your Dad may just change his mind.
Looking forward to your version if what transpires in the coming week so keep good,detailed notes Beaumont, very important to keep those facts straight. You may need to prove your point,(s) when Louise returns.
