When more is too much.

Me: Ummm… Beaumont. Do you mind if I have some room on the bed please. I’d like to take a nap too.

Beau: You got it.

Me: Aren’t you going to move?

Beau: Do I need to? You’ve got room. You’re lying on the bed,

Me: I meant, ‘a bit more room’, please.

Beau: Well then, you’ve got a problem don’t you?

Me: How so?

Beau: I’m comfy. You’ve got some room. Be happy.

Me: But, you’re taking up most of the space

Beau: Are you or are you not lying on the bed Louise?

Me: I am. but…

Beau: Keep your butt out of it. You are lying on the bed. Take a nap.

Me: But what if I need more room for a nap?

Beau: Then, go lie on the couch, Or on the guest bed. You have options. I’m comfy.

Me: Why does it have to be all about you?

Beau: Well actualy Louise, I could ask you the same question ’cause aren’t you trying to make it all about you and what you need?

Me: Not in so many words.

Beau: Spoken or implied, that’s what you’re doing, so, what difference does it make if I claim my right to take up the space I’m taking up?

Me: Oh man. I am so confused. All I wanted was to take a nap with you.

Beau: And isn’t that what we’re doing. Or at least, if you’d stop whining about space that’s what we’d be doing.

Me: But I want more space to nap.

Beau: Oh dawg! This is such a human issue — Your desire for more when what you’ve got is enough if you’d just quit wanting more,

Me: Oh.

Beau: Yeah. Oh. So Louise. May I suggest that as you are lying on the bed to take a nap, you actually do that instead of asking for more space?

Sigh. I mean, really. How does he do that? Make sense while absolutely driving me non-sensical?!!!
